River Mira in Odemira, Alentejo

Not too far away, along the banks of the River Mira lies the remnants of civilisations past; The Romans and Moors first settled the area now known as Odemira.

The River Mira winds her way through the hills and the valleys until she kisses the shores of the Atlantic Ocean on Portugal’s western coast where she mingles her fresh water body with that of her salt watered cousin.
